Christina Kim - Oaktree Law Attorney in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Real Estate Attorney

Biography

Christina S. Kim began working at Oak Tree Law in May 2015 as a litigation associate and is now the firm’s Lead Litigation Attorney. Her practice focuses on real estate law, consumer financial services and contract law. Her experience includes civil litigation in state and federal courts, statutory compliance work, and mortgage and banking issues.

At Oak Tree Law, Christina’s organizational skills come in handy in her work supervising the litigation department, overseeing associates and cases. She represents clients facing hardships and trouble with properties and banks; clients who feel wronged or frustrated by financial institutions; clients who require advice and review of contracts and agreements, title issues, and dealing with debt; or who have been defrauded in relation to their home or property. She handles matters involving real estate contracts, short sale negotiations, mortgage relief, and real estate disputes, including property line disputes, disagreements over ownership of property, or family and business disputes that include property or real estate issues. She also handles debt negotiation, settlement and repayment plans.

As a volunteer attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, Ms. Kim realized just how many people need legal assistance on an everyday basis. While there, she was given the 2015 Patricia Herzog Pro Bono Service Award. It was a natural transition to her work at Oak Tree Law. She has always enjoyed working with individuals, with financial problems, whether they can’t afford an attorney or financial problems have led to debt. She sees herself as a problem solver, and enjoys finding reasonable solutions for each client’s situation. Her goal is to utilize all possible avenues of the law to help clients going through a difficult time.

Ms. Kim enjoys helping clients receive fair reviews for home loan modifications and negotiating different workout options to avoid foreclosure. She welcomes the opportunity to help clients with their homes and negotiating with banks and corporations that would otherwise intimidate lay persons experiencing financial hardships. She is gratified that her work can often save clients from losing their homes for them and their families. Her compassion, dedication and diligence to help her firm and its clients, and her willingness to commit time and effort to produce quality results, are what she is most proud of in her work at Oak Tree Law.

Christina has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association since 2011. She was admitted to the Bar of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California in 2011. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2008, after attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she was an Honor’s Scholar and reached the Dean’s List for two terms. While at Buffalo Law, Ms. Kim served on the Buffalo Law Review both as an Associate and as an Executive Book Review Editor. She was a volunteer for the Buffalo Law Review High School Writing Workshop and a mentor for the Buffalo Law Review Mentoring program. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California in 2004.

She is fluent in Korean, conversational Spanish and German and likes travelling, cooking, reading and hiking.
